Pre-Clinical \ Laboratory Research - Laboratory Research Goals
We are currently studying a variety of herbal and natural product extracts in the laboratory for anti-prostate and anti-bladder cancer activities. The goals of these efforts are: (1) to identify those agents that are active in inhibiting or killing urologic cancer cells in cell culture and animal models, (2) to clarify their mechanisms of action using cutting edge experimental techniques and (3) to use data from promising pre-clinical studies as rationale to translate our efforts from the laboratory to the clinic. We believe our extensive efforts in these areas will enable us to design meaningful clinical trials for patient populations that may benefit most from the study agents.
